Suspected rare immigrant from Africa, one caught at sugar in an orchard at Goudhurst, Kent in September 1935 was presumed to have been accidentally introduced, but a migratory origin cannot be ruled out. Not recorded in Hampshire or on the Isle of Wight to date. Wingspan 32-38 mm. Larva feeds on Hibiscus and Cotton.
